We did experience one breakthrough regarding sleep with Luisa. I was able to tuck them in today for nap and then leave the room without her crying for me. We left the door open, and I passed by to check on her from time to time, but she seemed to trust that we were not going anywhere and went to sleep after a bit. They are in their beds for the night right now. I just tucked them in and came to the dining table to type this. I have a view of her bed from here, and she is lying down. Yay!
Tomorrow we will visit Chiquitines, Luisa's former orphanage, to say farewell to her friends and caretakers. We are taking cupcakes and juice boxes to have a little celebration. I am anxious to see how she reacts to being there. I am also looking forward to hearing about and seeing more of where she spent the last 20 months of her life.
A bonus to the Chiquitines visit is that the pediatrician there has offered to check Caroline out. She isn't extremely ill, but the upset stomach has lasted a couple of days too long.
It goes against every fiber of my blogging being to have a picture-less post, so here is a random illustration of the girls' similarity in size. Caroline is a couple of inches taller and a little bit thinner than Luisa, but they are overall the same size. Caroline is right at 30 pounds, and I would guess Luisa is about 33 pounds or so. They definitely will fit into the same size clothing. Their feet are even the same size, though Luisa's braces will mean that she will have larger shoes.
