Today was a nice, slow day. We made oatmeal for breakfast, and it tasted just like oatmeal at home, much to Caroline's delight. She has not had an easy adjustment to the food here. I thought she would love all the fruit, but she's mainly sticking to bananas, watermelon, and strawberries. The eggs taste the same, but the milk is very different. She is not a fan. Philip and I, on the other hand, have enjoyed experimenting.
Lulo juice. Mucho yummy. And it looks pretty neat, too. Apparently making fresh juice is a popular Colombian custom. We need to get some different fruits to try, but the Lulo is a winner. It's tart and refreshing. Arepas are another winner. Like cornbread with queso throughout it.
Besides cooking, we spend our time playing and playing some more. We went to the pool this morning. Luisa was a little apprehensive, but warmed up to it after a little bit. Caroline was so glad to get to go swimming again. The pool is on the rooftop of our hotel, and it is a really neat place to look over the surrounding area. I'll take the camera next time.
After the pool, we came home, had lunch, naptime, and then playtime. I'm pretty sure we are settling into a routine. Luisa is still doing so great. She has her clingy moments, but she is warming up more and more to Papi (especially when her bribes her with sweets). Caroline is still rocking the big sister thing.
Our bonding meeting is scheduled for Wednesday morning. ICBF officials will interview Caroline, Philip, and me to see how everything is going. After that, we will be assigned a court and will wait for the judge to sign Sentencia. For now, we are enjoying hanging out, experiencing the culture here, and playing with our two girls.
