Day 3: GOTCHA DAY!

Luisa has been with us about 12 hours now.  It is truly surreal to finally have her here with us.  Today could not have gone much better than it did.

Caroline was so excited on the way to Chiquitines!

We get our first glimpse of her walking out into the courtyard!
 Luisa was a little apprehensive toward us at first, but warmed up when we walked to the playground at Chiquitines to let her and Caroline slide.  Since then, it has been huge grins and very few tears.

Senor Papa (Mr. Potato Head) can calm any anxiety
We came back to the apartment, had some lunch (this girl can eat!), and lay down for a nap.  After nap, we had some silly girl play time.  Caroline was having so much fun entertaining Luisa, and Luisa was cackling at Caroline's antics.  We had some dinner, and then the moment Caroline was waiting for: introducing Luisa to Ryle Family movie night, popcorn included.  We watched Toy Story all snuggled on the couch.

Bedtime was a bit of a struggle.  Apparently Luisa has the amazing ability to be completely asleep for several minutes, and then pop up with her signature grin.  Back to sleep ten minutes later, and then sitting up again the grin.  Rinse and repeat.

Luisa has really begun bonding with me.  We expected her to gravitate toward Mami first (as do most adopted children), since she has been around so few males at the orphanage.  However, she warmed up to Philip tonight, let him snuggle her, and leaned in for his "besos" (kisses).

{We can't post photos of her on public media until after Sentencia, which will be 2 to 3 weeks.  Sorry!  Trust me, she is adorable!}
